Argentiere Glacie, Mont Blanc, France - hiking, avalanche

A British woman has died in an avalanche on Mont Blanc, one of the highest mountains in Europe. The incident occurred on the Argentiere Glacier, one of Mont Blanc's largest glaciers, while the woman was hiking with two other people. Rescue services arrived too late to save her, and an investigation has been ordered. The Mont Blanc is a popular destination for hikers and skiers, but officials have warned that warmer temperatures in recent years have increased the risk of rock falls and avalanches.
