Park City Mountain Resort, Utah - tree fall

Christian Helger, a 29-year-old climbing guide, died on-duty Monday in a fatal accident at the Park City Mountain Resort in Utah. Helger was riding alone on the Short Cut lift when a spruce tree hit the cable behind his chair, causing the chair to sway violently and toss Helger at least 25 feet into a ravine below. It is believed that the tree may have been weighed down by the heavy wet snow that had fallen at the resort in the preceding days.

Did an unusual storm cause fatal Park City chairlift accident?
