Shenandoah National Park, Virginia - Thru-hiking

A body believed to be that of James Alan Cattley, a missing hiker on the Appalachian Trail, was found in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Cattley had filed a permit for a seven-day hike on the AT in September 2022, but was officially reported missing in December. The body was transported to the medical examiner's office to be identified and for a cause of death to be determined. The park sustained damage from two ice storms in December, causing widespread closures.
